After Wedding 'Report'

It's been 3 days since my wedding & everything went smoothly all thks to Shirley, my jie-meis & the bros help. N nt forgetting a big thk u to all the guests for their gifts and for arriving on time.

Tracing back to the actual day morning, i woke up only @ 5.50 am when i'm supposed to wake up @ 5 am. Y? Cos i was too excited till i cldn't slp the previous nite. Anyway, started the actual day morning rushing to bath as my MUA arrived @ 6 am. Only manage to have some pandan cake in the midst of doing up my make-up. Nelson & Michael arrived @ 6.30 am & took some photos & video of me having my make-up done. Shirley & the jie-meis (excluding eleen cos she only woke up at ard 7 plus!!!) arrived at ard 7 am to prepare the stuffs to 'tekan' the guys.

The 1st stop was to my in-laws' hm for the tea ceremony followed by back to my new hse to change to the 'kua'. Last stop was back to my parent's hm for the tea ceremony. By then, i was v shagged but then i still have to put on my smile for the cameras. hehe.

Checked in to the hotel at ard 2 plus but nt much time to rest as we unpacked our stuffs, removed my make-up etc. By the time i finished my make-up, it was 7 pm and me & Jia Lin stayed in the rm while the rest went down to the ballrm to entertain the guests. I was v nervous as i started 'practising' for the march-in. I was so afraid that i might stepped on my gown & fell down while walking down the aisle.

Went down @ 7.30 pm to mingle with the guests and as well as to calm myself down. It was so nice to see everyone arriving so early and congratulating me.

The 1st march-in was so nice with all the bubbles & rose petals but then a lot of bubbles that the guests blew ended on my lips & i was feeling errr.... hehe. Anyway, it went thru smoothly cos at least i nv stepped on my gown. The 2nd march-in was much more easier but again with the poppers landing on my hair. hehe... Overall, it was v beautiful & memorable.

The speech from my lao gong was also qte entertaining as he started w the sentence, 'let me begin w a story'. This phrase is how his boss always starts his speech. N nt forgetting that I'm also v touched by what he said to me on the stage. Thk u dear!!!

The dinner ended at ard 10.30 pm & i was v v tired by then. My lao gong's face was also v red cos his friends had 'forced' him to drink. I cld remember him drinking a glass of liquid that consisted of 2 eggs. So disgusting...

Anyway me ended up slping at ard 2 plus that nite while my lao gong fell asleep at ard 12 plus w/o bathing. But it was reali a wonderful & memorable wedding!!!

However on the day jus before we checked-out, we had a nasty experience. When we approached the valet staff for him to retrieve our car, he jus simply put the key on the desk and said 'Ur key... ur car is there...' and afterwhich he walked away. But aren't valet staffs supposed to drive the car to us and moreover it was raining v heavily. My lao gong was v pissed off and he complained to the duty mgr. He even wanted to speak to the staff himself but seems like they cld nt find him. As what he said, 'Started w a high note & ended w a low note'. The wedding experience was wonderful but it jus simply gt spoilt by the valet staff.

1 more gd news today... Our car no. 1234 came out in the 4D today but..... we nv bought the no!!! But anyway qte a lot of my lao gong's friends won and we r also happy for those who won. Congrats!!!

1 DAY TO MY WEDDING!!!

It's finally 1 day to my Wedding!!! Hmm... Nw rotting @ hm b4 gg for my mani & pedicure session later... How m i feeling nw? Nt a bit excited yet lei... hehe...

过大礼 & 安床

Sequence of events that happened yesterday:

0930 hrs
-- Arrival of my lao gong & his 四婶 with the dowry basket, 42 boxes of cakes, 18 oranges, 1 pair each of the dragon & phoenix candles, 'si dian jing', 'ping jing', ang bao (replacing cans of pig trotters) & 2 bttles of liquor.

@ my hm
-- Handing the stuffs that my parents prepared to him: Baby bath tub, face basin, potty, bedside lamps, mugs with toothbrush & toothpaste, tea set, chopsticks, 2 red eggs, ang baos for his grandma & parents.

-- Returned him 6 oranges, 8 boxes of cakes & part of the 'ping jing'.

1015 hrs
-- Left for my hm to his hm as they've to bring the cakes for prayers.

-- My parents then left hm to hand out the cakes & invitations to my relatives.

1130 hrs
-- Left my lao gong's hm to our new hm for 安床.

-- His parents set our bed.

1300 hrs
-- On our way to 3 of my relatives' hm to hand out the cakes & invitations.

Wedding Details

Had a pre-wedding briefing with my jie-meis & my lao gong's bros yesterday nite @ my new hse. Started the briefing @ ard 8pm with my lao gong as the 'presenter' with the ppt slides that i did. U all might say it's qte 'kua zhang' but i think it's gd that everyone knows what will be happening on the day itself; so-call be mentally-prepared since it's me & my lao gong's big day. I have to thk the jie-meis & bros for their time to attend the briefing and thking in advance for agreeing to help us on our big day.

Anyway me & my lao gong also stayed @ our new hse yesterday for the 1st time where both of us plus my piglet squeezed in 1 single mattress placed on the floor.

Tml will be the 过大礼 @ 0930 hrs @ my hse & 安床 @ my new hse. Both my dad & mum were busy preparing the stuffs just nw and there goes the same for my lao gong's side. A bit excited but also feeling v tired. Think i gonna zzz early. 12 more days to my wedding... Aw, time passes too quickly!!!

After the St Chartered Run...

I'm nw feeling v 'chao da' bcos of the after-effects of the St Chartered Run yesterday morning. Tis is my 2nd time on the 10km route while my lao gong went for his 1st full marathon (42.195km).

My time was ard 1 hrs 20 mins while he spent 7 hrs on the rds and with him limping back. Again i've to say... spent $$ to torture ourselves. But... i reali feel a sense of achievement while he'd an experience of having to endure thro a rough journey with pain in his arms & feet. But i'm having sun burnts on my shoulder and dunno if my skin will turn back into the original color by my wedding... Boo boo... Did nt thought of that when i was running!!! Aw... how??? So day & nite, i'm applying whitening lotion on the sun-burnt parts.

Busy Sunday

Yesterday's schedules were back-to-back but glad that we fufilled all the tasks as listed.

1st stop to BS for my dad to try out his coat...Went all the way to Tanjong Pagar and it took less than 5 mins...

2nd stop to Beauty World to buy the stuffs for 'Guo Da Li' which's scheduled to be on 16 Dec 07, Sun. Tink we stayed @ the shop for 1 hr plus cos the things we nd to get were qte a lot.

--> Stuffs our side bought (Bride):
Baby bath tub, face basin, potty, bedside lamps, mugs with toothbrush & toothpaste, tea sets, chopsticks, red tray to put 2 oranges (for my bro to take when he opens the car door), small basket (to put 'lian zi', red dates, rock sugar, 'bai he' & longans), 'Yan Ji', 'Xi' stickers, 'Ang Paos', 'Ang Chai' (red cloth for hanging outside my hse).

--> Stuffs my lao gong bought (Bridegroom):
'Long Feng Zhu' (dragon & phoenix candles), 'Xi' stickers, 'Ang Chai', Big 'Ang Paos' for 'Ping Jing' etc.

As compared, the bride's side normally will have to buy more stuffs than the groom. Hearing the lady who taught us on some necessary stuffs that we gt to follow made me blur but luckily ours is qte simple le.

3rd stop to OG. My mum & bro bought the clothes they gonna wear drg the wedding dinner. Mum gt a knee-length, look-alike 'qi pao' while my bro gt himself a shirt & pants. Glad that their clothes r finally settled.

Was v shagged after all the walking & still v shagged today cos i'd spent 3 hrs just nw ironing all my clothes which i'd nt ironed for 1 mth plus (bo bian cos no more clothes to wear). Think i gonna go n slp. Will be gg for a facial after wk tml with my colleagues to pamper myself.

After exams activities

Woo... Finally the exams r over!!! Hence, i went for an 'excursion' to the night safari with my colleagues on fri. Thought there'll nt be many visitors but we were wrong! The whole safari was packed with tourists. The visit was qte enjoyable since the last time i went was drg my poly yr 3 when i went with the tourism cohort. I cld still remember the terrified scene where me & Aiwei were scared to 'death' by the bats. Thinking back, it was v funny of us to be so frightened of the bats until we both fell to the ground. hehe.

Anyway, we were supposed to go for a porridge buffet @ Quality hotel after the visit but too bad the cafe was full hse and since we went there qte late, we settled for the laksa outside the cafe. $3 for 1 bowl of laksa & 1 cup of orange. Value-for-money & delicious (as recommended by the taxi-driver who drove us there).

Nw waiting for my lao gong to finish his hair cut b4 we bring my dad to try the coat @ Tanjong Pagar, buy the items for 'GDL' @ Bukit Timah & bring my mum to shop for her clothes @ OG. And ya we r supposed to collect the race packs @ Suntec by today for the St Chartered Run nxt Sun.... Excited sia!!!

Last lap for the exams & starting lap for preps

It's been a wk plus since i last updated my blog. Had been stuffing my mind with all the theories for my exam. Will be having my last paper this coming Wed and then i can'officially' start on my wedding prep ('Xin Ku' my lao gong for having to do most of the wedding & hse stuffs till nw).

Had a finalization with my hotel coordinator last Saturday where we chose the color themes (Love in mist theme), floral displays (lilac & off white roses), wedding favors and even to the color of the plates for the VIPs etc. Had a fruitful discussion with Fiona as she'd gave us a lot of suggestions.

Nw is the period for inviting my guests and confirming their attendance. As we started to list out in the excel file, sms-ing to cfm, we realize that we've to cut down on the no. of pple to invite (**regret that we din 'hiong' & bk the grand ballrm that time as nw the ballrm had been bked by another couple**). Anyway, i'd been getting favorable response from the guests i'd invited. Thks to those whom i'd contacted.

Hmm... Stuffs to be completed:
--> Catering for AD, cakes for 'Guo Da Li', buying of necessary stuffs for 'Guo Da Li', gg shopping with my mum for her clothes, fitting of jackets for Dad, choosing of songs, finalizing on the schedule for AD, blah blah blah....

Advance 23rd B'day Celebration

This yr's b'day celebration for Jia Lin & me was at Giraffe (Istana Park). Ambience was great but it lacks a variety of food. I'd spaghetti w laksa sauce which was quite unique. Hmm... 1 yr older... Don't like to celebrate my b'day liao. hehe... But i enjoyed myself that nite. Thks to all for the present & cake. Luv ya. Muackz... hehe...


Looking fwd to another celebration this Sat with my poly frenz. Too bad that Val is missing from our gathering.

Comments after Food Tasting

Just had my food tasting on Tue at the hotel. Overall, me & my lao gong were satisfied w the food but don't know whether it was bcos the chef just needed to cook for only 1 table for our tasting as opposed to several tables for a function. Anyway, just have to keep my fingers crossed that dinner on the actual nite wld be as gd.

The shark fin was the best as the ingredients was really up to std. However, we had comments over the sea bass and the prawns. The sea bass had a 'soil' smell while the prawns had to be de-shell by ourselves. Hence, we had feedback to the chef who came out at the end of the dinner and we wld also be informing our coordinator, Fiona. Hopefully, there can be changes made.

Drg the dinner, the 2 families also started discussing on the items needed for our wedding. All of them were discussing in dialect which made me & my lao gong qte blur w rgd to some terms they used. Anyway, those essential items & procedures wld be handle by them. We'd also set the time that my lao gong will be coming to my hse. As his grandma and my dad said that we can't leave my hse for my lao gong's hse after 9am, he'll be coming @ 7.30am which includes ample time for my 'jie-meis' to 'te-kan' him. hehe.

Aw, there r a lot of stuffs to prepare for the wedding as the date draws near... We'd also just collected the printed inserts and think we sld be soon starting to list the guests list. Hmm, starting to feel excited...

Trip to JB

Went JB yesterday to source for a printer for my wedding inserts. Managed to find one @ City Sq where the price was RM90 for printing of 250 pcs. As compared to S$90 for 250 pcs, that was a bargain and hence, we placed our order and it'll be ready in 1 wks time.

It was also a fruitful trip for me as I found a pair of gold heels for my wedding day. The design was exactly the same when i saw it last thurs @ Vivocity but too bad they don't have my size. Lucky for me i saw it @ Summit (at city sq) yesterday and they were having a sale. So, i bought it and it only cost S$28!!!

Settled on these 2 things and the nxt one coming up will be the food tasting...

eLeen's b'day celebration

Went for Eleen's b'day celebration @ her grandma's hse yesterday. Had a sumptuous dinner with dishes like fish fillet, bee hoon, curry chicken, sambal prawns, sambal kang kong, chilli crab w fried man tou & steamed crab... Yummy!!! Thks to the host who 'qing zi don shou' to cook the chilli crabs!!!

Took a lot of photos with the rest but tink have to wait for qte sometime b4 Serene gets it upload :p

Entertainment for the nite was a game of monopoly which ended with me getting bankrupt & maine bcoming the biggest winner. It was great fun with the gals but also v tiring as we left her place @ 0400 hrs....

Shape Run

Me & Teresa went for the Shape run yesterday morning. Woke up @ 6am & left hse @ 6.20am. The run started @ 7.30am along esplanade dr. Guess what? Both of us spent 37 mins to complete the 5km run. N teresa mentioned that she was feeling 'high' along the last stretch. Wat's she thinking??? hehe.

Some Updates...

Went for JY's b'day celebration last sun with my sec frenz. Had an enjoyable dinner @ Ms Clarity Cafe. After dinner, we were talking abt what Eleen gonna wear on my big day. Guess all of us were pressurizing her to wear something v feminine to suit the rest. I also threatened her that if she dun wear something v feminine, she don't attend my wedding. Hehe...

Gonna go for the Shape run with Teresa tml. Hmm... feeling excited. Both of u r gg for the 5km run and the starting pt will be @ MS. Hope that it'll be a cooling morng...

Opps... Almost forgt to update that the date for the 'Guo Da Li' will be on 16 Dec, Sun. My lao gong's parents will be bringing stuffs like 'pin jing', wedding cakes etc to my hm on that morng. Both sides' parents will also have to go ard to give the cakes & invitations to our relatives.

Me & my lao gong had also started to update our guest list. We'd also chose our photos to be used for the montage. From the times when i was still a baby, till pri sch, sec sch, poly, dating and till our ROM. Wonderful memories as we were looking thro them...

Chocolates from germany brought hm by my dear dear!!! Had asked him to buy Giotto as it's yummy (as recommended by my air steward classmate, Daniel). Tastes like rocher but a smaller ver. Dun understand y gals like choco so much. Gonna complain fat again... hehe... Still waiting for eleen's udderfingers (butter toffee smoothered w milk choco & almonds) from the U.S.

Off he goes overseas again. This time rd to Hannover & Berlin which made me full of envy even though he's on a wkg trip. I'm still stuck here in SG!!! And yes he called today and so i demanded him to explore the city fully so that he can bring me there in the near future :p

As i looked @ the ticker in my blog indicating that it's nw 4 mths & 2 days till my wedding, it jus reminded me that there're still a lot of stuffs that we'd yet to prepare. Had chosen my wedding photos last Mon and jus to say we're nt firmed in our decision of nt to top-up any photos. Hai... Bo bian.. Tink this happens when u can only choose 30 out of the 200 plus photos that the v-gd photographer had took. And that's y we ended up buying 6 more and upgrading to a collage portrait which costs us another $1100.

Anyway, jus to give an excuse that the photos will serve as a once-in-a-lifetime memory for us to hold on till we are 'LKK'...

mY Weekend

Went Serene's hse for her b'day celebration yesterday. Had steamboat for dinner & it was reali yummy... Thks to her mum who prepared the food and nt forgetting the agar agar she had always made. Stayed @ her hse till almost 2am... N today i woke up @ 7am unwillingly to jog @ ECP cos my lao gong asked me along to jog with him & his colleagues. Hai... Dunno when did i ever started to join the 'uncles' jogging club cos out of the 5 guys, 3 r already of age... Hehe... It was v shagged & pressurized when running w them but anyway on the return lap, i took my own sweet time & run on my own...

Busy week...

It's been a while since i last updated my blog. This week was qte a shagged & busy wk for me. Had been waking up @ 0600 hrs and sleeping @ 2400 hrs for the past few days. @@ My dark circles r getting serious ah.. boo boo...

For the past wkends, me & my lao gong were cooped up in our new hse from morng till evening as we r nw starting to do some touch-ups. I can forsee myself staying @ hm to do hsewk drg the wkends as reali there're lot of things to be done. Whenever i complained to my mum, she'll 'sarcastically' say "who ask u to get such a big flat?" Hai... but anyway 5-rm is nt that big once all the furnitures r in...

This is the set of vodka that my lao gong had collected so far. Too bad we r short of the vodka pepper which is nt available for sale nw.

This is my study rm. Bought the mirrors from ikea as our designer had suggested that it'll make the rm looks bigger.

Nw gonna update my activities starting from Mon... 13 Aug... The 1st day of the lunar 7th mth. Me & my lao gong went to our new hse to burn offerings. Met my colleague near the carpark as so 'qiao' that my new hse is beside his block.

Tue... 14 Aug... Met Hazel for dinner as it's been almost 2 mths since we last met. Went Suntec & finally i tried the ever-popular doughnuts from doughnut factory. It was reali yummy!!! My fav is the coffee roasted almond flavor. Queued for just 15 mins since it was almost closing time. Nw i noe what time i gonna go if i have cravings for their doughnuts.

I was also informed by Teresa on that day that my mentor who taught me drg my 3rd yr in the poly had passed away. It was qte a shocked since he was nt that old... just only 51 and heard that he'd died of heart attack in sch. Hai... Life is just so fragile. Drg our poly days, my frenz & i din qte like him as he was bias but nw hearing that he'd passed away, i jus feel sad...

Wed...15 Aug... Dragged myself to sch as i was v lethargic. It's been a wk since my classes had started. Yesterday was my 1st media comm tutorial. Luckily, it was an interesting lesson as the tutor was gd @ engaging the whole class. But, he looks a bit like TT Durai.. Opps... :p

Today is Thu...16 Aug... Had lunch @ the newest cafe (Rocky Master) @ my wkplace since there were special offers for the 1st 2 wks since it opened on Tues. Had my fav blueberry muffin & a cup of devil's brew. Satisfied but also guilty cos i'd been eating qte a lot of pastries these few days. Tink i gonna put on some weight liao... hehe...

Finally the wk is coming to an end but still gonna go to class tml nite. Ah!!! Spoil my friday... But looking fwd to Sat since will be celebrating Serene's bday @ her hse with a steamboat dinner. Eleen is also back from US and she told me that she's still suffering from jet-lag. Dunno what's wrong w her since it's nt the 1st time she'd travelled so far. hehe...

Will be gg for my wedding photos selection this coming mon.. Aw, excited but tink i'll be caught in a dilemma and will spend a lot of time choosing the photos. Eugene, the photographer will also be there. Tink he gonna 'psycho' me to buy xtra photos. Me & my lao gong mus be reali firm with our decision and that is nt to buy xtra photos and jus choose the qty that's set under the pkg...

My tiring weekend

Was v shagged today cos i did nt have enuff slp over the wkend. Slept @ 1am on Fri, woke up @ 8am on Sat, slept @ 4am on Sat, woke up @ 10.30am on Sun & slept @ 12am on Sun. Hectic wkend and my arms & legs r aching from the cleaning up done on Sat @ my new hse. Dunno hw i'm gg to handle the hsewk after i move in nxt yr. Aw...

Went St James with my sec frenz & my lao gong on Sat since we still have the bttle of liquor there. Stayed @ the gallery bar again since it was much more quieter than the rest.

Had an advanced b'day celebration for Aiwei yesterday w my poly frenz. Had luncheon @ Waraku (Central). The food there was indeed affordable since the portion was big. I had a set consisting of udon in curry soup base & rice w chicken and egg. Yummy!!! Too bad Val is nt ard to join the celebration. After lunch was KTV @ Chinatown. Too bad i was too tired and was suffering from a flu cos the rest of them were indeed enjoying themselves...

As i had a dinner @ nite, i went off early while the rest ct'd their singing. Went to a dinner @ Geylang which was held to celebrate one of the chinese god's b'day. And hence, there were auctions gg on throughout the dinner. The 5 of us had the whole table to ourselves and hence, we were eating portions for 10 pple.

So seeing all the activities i had listed, that's y i'm so shagged today. Tink gonna forgo watching my desperate hsewives & turn in early... *yawn*yawn*

NDP Preview 2007

Went to the NDP Preview yesterday with my mum & FILs. I was v excited since this is the 1st yr that NDP is held @ Marina Bay. We reached there @ ard 6 and had to queue up for qte a while to get our goodie bags. Me & my mum gt a blue & purple bag loaded with lots of goodies. By the time we were seaten (@ the green sector nearest to the Sheares bridge), the show was just abt to start. Could only took a few photos cos my camera was @ its low batt (boo..boo). Enjoy...

1st to 4th: 'Red Lions' of the SAF.. Cool rt?>> 5th to 6th: Parade form up by the various contingents>> 7th: The various shapes big balloons hanging @ the top of the seating area>> 8th to 9th: The state flag fly-past when the national anthem was sung.

1st to 2nd: Presidential Salute with RSAF F-16>> 3rd: 'Bomb burst' over Marina Bay>> 4th: Presidential Parade Inspection by the Speaker of Parliment>> 5th: Diving down from the Shears bridge>> 6th: Diving into waters by the RSN naval divers>> 7th to 8th: Performance by the various schs>> 9th: The fireworks.

The whole show was indeed splendid!!! With the 15 mins fireworks as the ending segment, it was the one that me & my mum enjoyed the most. With the pretty colors and loud bursting sound high up in the skie, i was so impressed and excited....

Hope that i'll get a chance to watch the NDP every yr... And thks to my lao gong who made it possible for me this yr :)

Updates of New Hse

Spent 5 hrs @ my new hse yesterday night doing some painting touch-ups. Slept @ 1am and today woke up @ 6 for the Mizuno Run. It was raining heavily in the morning and i was grumbling to my lao gong y did we reg for the run since we cld choose to slp at hm... hehe. Luckily the rain stopped b4 we started the 5km run @ Bedok reservoir. Completed at ard 8.30am, collected the goodie bag & went hm st to orr orr.

Anyway took some photos of my new hse yesterday....

Photo-Shooting Day...

Yesterday was my wedding photo-shoot day. The session lasted from 9 am to 7 pm. At the end of the day, me & my lao gong were v shagged and our legs were aching from all the walk. But it was really worth the effort, the time & the sweat as it wld be an once in a lifetime experience. Enjoyable as it was, part of the effort have to go to our 'v nice' photographer, Eugene who at first i tok was a rather cool, a bit attitude photographer. But his true colors had slowly revealed as the hours went by as i got 'suan' by him a lot. Hehe. But... i also gt my fair bit of getting back @ him.

This photographer was rather 'hiao' from the way he showed me hw to pose. haha. But w/o him posing, i also cld nt get the nice nice effect on the photos. So mus give him some credits or else he gonna threaten to format my photos :p

We started the day with 1 hr of hair styling & make-up @ the studio. The studio was rather cool as it was actually a 2 storey pte hse located @ Orchard. All in all, i had 6 rds of outfit & hair style changing while my lao gong only nd to do his hair once and changed his shirts & jackets. Bo bian... Brides will always be the 'zu jue' while bridegrooms the 'pei jiao'. hehe... Hmm, the one i like most was wearing the 'kua' where my MUA, Gina attached a small wig with little pleats. With the wig, my that 'v gd' photographer kept saying that my head was big n i kept blocking my lao gong's face. hehe. My lao gong also looked v funny in his traditional chinese costume. Looked like those olden times 'se lao ye' :p

For the outdoor shooting, we went to the old police academy, dempsey road and the floating platform where NDP is held @. It was v cool to have our shoots @ the platform since we r the 1st couple to take our photos there... I felt rather weird when i was @ the site cos there were a lot of pple rehearsing but anyway we carried on with the photo-taking till ard 7 pm. Mus also thks maine for coming to help me @ the site.

Hmm... At the end of the day, our mouths were numbed from the smiling and as wat Eugene had said, tink both of us 'failed' to be models cos we can't understand instructions. hehe... But both of us really appreciate his professionalism and his expertise in helping us took a lot of photos that we liked v much. But... the bad pt is we'll have a hard time choosing cos there r so many nice nice photos that he'd took. So Eugene, guess u noe wat to do horz since i'd commented so many gd pts abt u... :p
